The first and second days of ERUS26 in Padua will close with an ERUS Spotlight session, in which moderators interview the day’s ‘headliners’ and other experts about the cases that were presented in the scientific programme.
ERUS Chair Prof. Alberto Breda explains the motivation for this new session type at the ERUS Annual Meeting, comparing it to a post-match football analysis:
“We want to teach the step-by-step of the best surgery of the day. Just like in football, after the game, the head coach, ‘il mister’ reviews all the players’ moves and corrects what went wrong and applauds what went well. In Italian we call this kind of slow motion analysis ‘la moviola’.”
“Surgeons will be able to listen and review the crucial steps of a surgery, with live commentary by the surgeon and other experts. We have a lot of expectations for this new ERUS initiative from the hands of Dr. Ruben De Groote.”
The session will be in a talk show format and be filmed for online distribution via the EAU’s channels. The sessions will take place at the special ERUS Spotlight Studio (Level 0) from 17:00 to 18:00 on September 9 and 10. Delegates are invited to attend the session and ask questions.
