With more than 950 registered participants, ERUS24 in Bordeaux has set a new record for the highest attendance in its 21-year history. This is certainly an indication that robotic-assisted urology is a dynamic field with ever-increasing adoption and interest in new systems and techniques. Naturally the meeting is helped by a location with a particular history and which is a major centre in laparoscopic and robotic innovation in its own right.
Prof. Alberto Breda (Barcelona, ES), ERUS Chair hailed the joint efforts of the Section and the local organising committee in Bordeaux. “This is set to be a very interesting edition of our annual meeting and I look forward to welcoming everyone on Wednesday!”
Over the next three days, in eight three-screened sessions, the participants will experience live surgical demonstrations from international experts on a variety of systems. As a first for an EAU event, three of the procedures will be performed at an extreme long-distance, using the latest telesurgical technology with the surgeons in Bordeaux and the patients in China.
The meeting features special additional scientific programmes for surgeons who are starting out in their career (Junior ERUS-YAU), and for nurses who work as part of a robotic team. Four courses by the European School of Urology are offered as part of the programme with no additional registration or payment necessary.
